Berkshire Collective was created in March 2020 during lockdown.
We noticed that lots of locals were asking where they could get take away, Sunday Roasts – even Afternoon Tea and where they could shop locally. We wanted to curate a page where all of this information would be in one place and where we could support and shout out about as many local businesses as possible.
With the generosity of Highfield Prep School in Maidenhead, we were able to offer the staff car park, free of charge to McCarthy’s Country Store and Local Eggs Berkshire so that they could continue their market trade at a safe 2m distance and provide delicious baked goods, bread and fresh local eggs, fruit and honey to those locally who might not be feeling up to shopping in a busy supermarket.
We have met some incredible entrepreneurs in the area as we have been growing our platform. We feel so proud to live in an area amongst a community enriched with people who choose to support their local cafés, restaurants, butchers and farmers at this difficult time!
